President Donald Trump reposted a racist video clip on his Truth Social account late Thursday night that depicted former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes.
Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), the sole Black Republican in the Senate, called Trump's post about the Obamas "the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House."
The White House took 12 hours to remove a video depicting the former president and his wife as apes.
The White House initially defended the post, which depicted the former president and first lady as apes. Following widespread bipartisan backlash, the post was removed.
President Donald Trump, in Switzerland for the World Economic Forum, demanded that Denmark hand over Greenland — and then climbed down from that demand after the U.S. stock market fell and European leaders threatened retaliation. Trump insisted there was “a framework for a deal” with the NATO secretary general but was vague about its parameters.
